7. God’s Fearsome Sign
This event was a sign given to both children. The teacher wanted the children to receive the gift of speaking in tongues and instructed them to praise God earnestly. But since they were still young, they were more eager to play than to praise. Whenever the teacher was present, they pretended to praise enthusiastically, but as soon as the teacher was gone, they would go back to playing. After about a month of this, the teacher laid hands on them to impart the gift—but as expected, they were unable to speak in tongues. The teacher rebuked them, saying, “You have deceived me” and gave them a stern warning. The children admitted their wrongdoing and begged for forgiveness.
Then the teacher said, “Because of this, God will show you something fearful and dreadful after three days and nights.” Not long after, a sister who had previously known the teacher came to find us—she was possessed by demons. At that time, we were living a nomadic life, traveling in a car, so the odds of meeting someone like that were extremely low. And yet, mysteriously, she found us. She had a severe case of schizophrenia. One moment she would say one thing, and the next moment contradict herself. She was plagued by overwhelming anxiety and nervousness and couldn’t manage even basic daily life. She was so tormented by evil spirits that she couldn’t sleep, claiming that demons were coming out of the television and terrifying her. We had seen her before—several times she had come to the teacher and received prayer, which brought temporary relief. But whenever she got a little better and felt she could manage, she would return to the world. Then her condition would worsen again, and once she could no longer bear it, she would come back to the teacher. She repeated this cycle many times.
“The dog is turned to his own vomit again, and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” (2 Peter 2:22)
That day, she came and pleaded tearfully, “Teacher, please save me. I’ve been to all the famous pastors, and even though they laid hands on me, I wasn’t healed. I believe you are Moses. Please save me. Only you can heal me.” Moved by her desperation, the teacher had compassion on her and prayed for her after three days of fasting. As soon as she received prayer, she suddenly cried out, saying she felt hot, and began leaping and reacting violently. Then she would suddenly become gentle like a lamb, confessing that the teacher was indeed Moses. Then, out of nowhere, she would spiral into saying she wanted to die, flailing wildly again. After that, the teacher laid hands on her. Later, we had to go to the supermarket, so the teacher parked the car and told the children in advance: “If the sister starts convulsing, if her body twists and foams come out of her mouth, if her eyes roll back so far you can no longer see her pupils—just massage her and keep praying. Wait patiently.”
Then he went into the store, leaving the children and the sister in the car. Just as he had warned, her eyes rolled back, her hands and body contorted, and foam came out of her mouth. Terrified, the older child ran into the store where we were and explained what was happening. The teacher said, “Did I not tell you that God would show you something fearful and dreadful after three days and nights? Go back and pray.” And he sent them back to the car. From that day on, the children never took the teacher’s words lightly again. Through their fear, they came to learn God’s providence, and they were also shown evidence that the teacher truly is a prophet of God. To “fear the Lord” means to serve Him with reverence and holy fear.
8. The Power of God’s Tongues
When my eldest child was younger, she followed along with my faith simply because I believed. But she didn’t fully believe or follow the Word with conviction that the teacher is Moses, the servant sent by God. As she grew older and entered adult life, she was exposed to more things—she saw and heard much, developed desires to try new things, and grew interested in the world. Eventually, she let go of the Word and began making dreams and plans for her future in the world. One day, she packed her things and left home.
God had shown me that the teacher is truly the servant Moses, sent by Him, by revealing His image from heaven and giving me undeniable evidences. For my second child, it was also clear—just three days after meeting the teacher, the nosebleeds that once poured so heavily she seemed like she would die stopped completely. Her behaviors, once considered mentally deficient child, returned to normal, and even her crossed eyes became straight again. It was undeniable—he really was the prophet sent by God.
But for my eldest daughter, there was no such direct evidence. Even though it’s absolutely true that the teacher is God’s servant Moses, rejecting the Word and chasing worldly dreams is the path to death. So I cried out in prayer to God with the teacher, begging for her.
The teacher prayed with such desperation for that one soul, continuing all the way into the next day. Watching from beside him, I felt heartbroken. God responded to his earnest prayer, and the next day, my daughter returned. But she hadn’t come to repent—she came to announce how she planned to live her life in the world.
The teacher made a suggestion to her: “Let’s make a deal. Just pray to God for one week. And if your heart still hasn’t changed, then do as you wish.” My daughter agreed and immediately set off on a walking prayer journey.
It is said that the powerful gift of praying in tongues helps subdue our fleshly desires. The result of walking and praying in tongues for a week was truly astonishing. All the worldly values and dreams she had clung to were completely overturned by the spiritual power of praying in tongues. She changed 180 degrees. The confusion, emptiness, and meaninglessness in her heart were replaced with fullness and gentleness. Seeing her now say, “I think I can live according to God’s will through His Word,” made me truly thank God. God is truly power. He is truly authority.
9. God’s Authority and Power
This happened to my eldest daughter. She said, “From now on, I’ll truly live according to God’s will. But please grant me just one last wish—please take me to Lotte World in Jamsil just once.” It was the end of the year, and during that time, the teacher would always fast in preparation for the new year. So he told her, “Not now. How can we think about amusement when we’re praying to God?” He tried to stop her, but she kept insisting. She was a lovely child who never said “no” or was difficult, but on that day, unusually, she stubbornly pleaded. So I asked the teacher to please allow it just this once, and he agreed. I went out to the market to prepare some food for the outing—but that’s when it happened.
In fact, my eldest daughter had been praying, asking God to show her a sign. She had seen that God had shown me His image from heaven as proof. Her younger sister received healing just three days after meeting the teacher—her unstoppable nosebleeds ceased, her cross-eyes were corrected, and even her behaviors, which had been diagnosed as intellectually disabled, normalized. She had seen that evidence, but cried in prayer because she felt like she had no personal proof for herself.
We lived in a basement apartment without a boiler system, so we heated the place with a heater and always had a pot of water on top of it. Around 5 p.m., the water that had been boiling all day was extremely hot. Before going to the market, the teacher had seen the pot and told me to refill it since it was boiling down, but I had forgotten. The heater stand was quite tall, so the pot couldn’t easily fall. But shockingly, while I was out shopping, my eldest daughter accidentally spilled that scalding water all over herself. She suffered severe burns on her arm, side, and abdomen.
As we were walking to the market, the teacher heard the phone ring and immediately said, “Something has happened,” and rushed back home. When we arrived, the child was trembling in shock, and the burns were very serious. The skin on her elbow had melted to the point that her bone was exposed, and the burns on her abdomen and side were also severe.
We were disinfecting the wounds at home using burn dressings, but watching her suffer made me worry. I asked the teacher, “Her skin has melted and her bones are exposed… will the flesh come back?” On the third day, the teacher said that God had told him not to worry—new flesh would grow and it would be restored like before.
About a week later, a friend came to visit and, upon seeing the burn wounds, was shocked. She exclaimed, “Even a hospital might not be able to treat this—how can you leave a child in this condition?” She was distressed and angrily said that it’s a heresy or something like Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In response, the teacher made a wager with the person. “I am Moses, the servant of God. If I truly am, then this child’s wound will not become infected and will be healed with new flesh like before. But if I am not Moses, then the flesh will rot. If she is healed, you will follow me. If not, I will follow whatever you say.” This person had wanted to work with the teacher in the secular world, which is why the promise was made.
The daughter completely recovered in just 28 days, to the point where she could go to a public bath. Other than a faint scar on her elbow left as a reminder, the wounds healed so well that no scarring was visible. Through this pain and suffering, God gave my eldest daughter a sign and made it a testimony.
During prayer, the teacher had said someone would be sent to us, so we had been waiting. But with my daughter lying down, badly burned, how can this be virtuous to someone? Still, the teacher had said, “Because of this event, someone will come in 12 days,” and just like he said, a brother visited us. Truly, in everyday life, we continue to experience how everything the teacher says, according to the path God has appointed, comes to pass exactly.
